Manchester United won 3-2 at Old Trafford thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s 50th club career hat-trick, which helped the Red Devils climb out of a hole against Norwich City.
Ronaldo hat-trick was his second in three Premier League games, and he now has 21 goals for the season, breaking the 20-goal barrier for the 16th time.
Ronaldo now has 99 Premier League goals to his name, and United can only be grateful to him for saving them from a potentially humiliating day.
He gave United a two-goal comfortable lead on, but Norwich equalized via Kieran Dowell and Teemu Pukki, only for Ronaldo to lash a free-kick winner beyond Tim Krul’s fingers in the 76th minute.
In the third minute, David de Gea rushed from his line to masterfully deny Pukki’s effort flick over the goalie, and Norwich could shortly suffer missing out on that great opportunity.
In the seventh minute, Ronaldo’s fizzing 20-yard drive was denied by Krul, but moments later, United’s Anthony Elanga snatched Ben Gibson in the penalty area and passed for a simple finish.
United maintained attacking into opposition who seemed vulnerable at the time, and Ronaldo added a second in the 32nd minute, heading a right-wing corner by Alex Telles beyond Krul.
In first-half stoppage time, Norwich equalized when Pukki’s pass from the left was glanced in at the far angle by a freeman Dowell.
Norwich drew level after 52 minutes, despite being outsmarted for far too longer, as Pukki sneaked past De Gea when Dowell passed him in and the forward remained well not in offside position.
The red devils lacks creativity in front and appeared disconnected entirely, with De Gea save superbly from Milot Rashica to maintain the visitors on equal terms, but Ronaldo saved the day from 25 yards.
