PDP veteran from Cross River thinks Atiku is the greatest candidate to lead Nigeria in 2023.

King David Etowa, a stalwart of the Cross River People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has declared that former Vice President Alh Atiku Abubakar is the finest presidential candidate to lead the country starting in 2023.

In response to the PDP’s zoning of the presidency in Calabar on Wednesday, Etowa, a founding member of the party in the Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State, said the party should stop playing politics and simply hand over the presidential ticket to Atiku Abubakar, who has the potentials to rebuild Nigeria and restore our lost glory.

Etowa, a political activist agitating for the enthronement of internal democracy across parties and good governance, said the former vice president has the experience, reach, and enormous support across all six geopolitical zones to win the presidency for the PDP, adding that if the party plays games with it, they will lose again in the 2023 elections.

According to him, what Nigerians require right now is someone of such caliber, with private-sector expertise and foreign ties, to lead us out of the economic quagmire into which the APC has thrown us.

‘I’m not the only one working on this project. God is also with me, and He has revealed to me that I should meet HE Atiku Abubakar and tell Nigerians that power should remain in the north because He wants to use Atiku to address the country’s problems,’ he said.

‘The PDP should stop playing politics and give him the presidential ticket because this country is on the verge of greatness.’ I can tell you that APC is circling the block looking for someone to save it from the misdeeds it has been committing since 2015. However, I can tell you that the APC has lost all hope of saving the country.’

‘PDP is well planted and has huge support across the length and breadth of the state,’ he stated, explaining the party’s fate in the state following Governor Ben Ayade’s defection on May 20, 2021. Regardless of who emerges from the PDP, the governorship will be won in 2023. However, I can assure you that if they present suitable and God-fearing candidates for various elected offices, they would easily reclaim the electorate.’
